RunningBall joins EVMI Partnership Programme
Hünenberg, Switzerland / Valencia, Spain, 15 August 2011 – RunningBall (www.rball.com), the Number One in the real-time sports information sector, teams up with the Event & Venue Management Institute (EVMI), associating itself to the institute’s partnership programme.
By way of a three-year agreement RunningBall becomes an Associate Partner of EVMI. With sports and entertainment getting ever more closely intertwined, RunningBall’s expertise regarding data and services for the booming market of in-play betting as well as their industry know-how comes handy to cover such topics in the tutorials and courses supplied by EVMI.
Giancarlo Tottoli, CEO of RunningBall, commented: “RunningBall is pleased to join the EVMI Partnership Programme and to contribute to the understanding of the role of sports data providers and the benefits they bring to sports in general but also to stadium operators and event organizers. Our activity is in close interaction with these specialists and we are looking forward to keeping future event and venue managers abreast of the latest developments in the sports data industry.”
Kerstin Schulz, Executive Director of EVMI, stated: “EVMI is happy to welcome RunningBall among its growing group of prestigious partners who assist us in teaching our students with the latest know-how ‘from the industry to the industry’. Today, and even more so tomorrow, event and venue managers will be facing challenges that go well beyond running a simple brick and mortar facility and who will require a 360° view of the sports industry and its new service providers.”
Over the past years, RunningBall has been securing its share in the increasingly competitive sports data marketplace by exploiting technology developments, innovative business models, niche products and new audiences. While the provision of data for in-play betting is the main activity of the company, RunningBall also cooperates with academic institutions that use its data material for scientific studies.

About the Event & Venue Management Institute (www.evmi.org)
The Event & Venue Management Institute (EVMI) was founded in response to the growing need for professional education and career development. Today's multi-faceted venue management role requires professional training – preferably delivered by today's experts for tomorrow's practitioners. Similar courses exist in North America and Australia but these are tailored specifically to their respective markets and, as such, have little practical application for venues in Europe. Uniquely, EVMI programmes take into account the diverse cultural, financial and organisational structure of the European and international markets - and so deliver practical, knowledge-based training.
